It's the week of Thanksgiving! I've been very low key since the birth of Claire - resting as often as I can and taking advantage of the extra sets of hands helping out around the house. I have to thank, thank, and thank my parents for making the trip over. My mom has been here since the day after Claire arrived, and her help has been invaluable to Matt and me. Thanks to her, our house is clean, our laundry is done, we've eaten well, and Audrey always has someone to play with her. My dad arrived this past weekend, and he's been enjoying time with his granddaughters. To say that Audrey is glad to have her Gram and Pa here is an understatement! She is thrilled.
Yesterday, Audrey had her Thanksgiving Feast at her day school. The kids have been working hard over the past two weeks preparing their costumes. Audrey had a vest (made from a pillowcase) and a turkey hat on when we arrived. Audrey had also made a place mat and name tag to mark her seat at the table. We brought Claire along with us to the feast, and she slept the entire time!
Today is also Matt's birthday. We're thankful to have him home for the entire day, and I have a special cake (I bought it - thank you, Baker's Sweets) for later today. Audrey has also made some special "surprises" for her Daddy. So, I wish a happy birthday to Matt - the best husband and Daddy, and my best friend!
