Claire Marie Russell

Our daughter, Claire Marie, arrived at 7:16 p.m. on November 12th!  She weighed 7 lb, 9 oz, and was 21 1/4 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful.  We're now home and adjusting to having a newborn in the house again!

I went into labor around 1 a.m. on Thursday morning.  We went to the hospital around 6:30 a.m., and Claire was born over 12 hours later!  It was a long day, and I was very tired by the time she arrived.  It was worth it, though.  We were released from the hospital on Saturday morning.

One of the greatest joys has been watching Audrey love on "her baby"!  She is so thrilled to have a new baby sister, and she loves to watch her, talk to her, and cuddle with her.  Claire also seems to already adore Audrey.  When Claire is really upset, sometimes just the sound of Audrey's voice can calm her down.

The only bummer right now is that Claire has her days and nights mixed up.  She's been sleeping too good during the day, then staying awake most of the night.  Matt and I aren't getting a lot of sleep, even with my mom stepping in to help out!  The three adults in the house are tired... and I think I'm handling the lack of sleep the worst!  At least I can remind myself that this is a temporary phase.
