A Trip to Richmond, Virginia!

Audrey, Claire, the two dogs, and I made the trip up to Richmond, Virginia, to visit Stuart and Courtney (my brother and sister-in-law) at the beginning of this month.

We had a GREAT time once we got there... The drive up was not as fun.  It just took us awhile.  I had to stop to feed Claire twice.  The first time I stopped, some creepy man in the gas station asked me where my husband was as I walked by with both girls.  I lied and told him my husband was taking care of our dogs.  I made sure that guy was nowhere in sight when I walked out of the gas station.  I don't feel bad about that lie.  Audrey actually did great (thank you, Odyssey DVD player), but Claire was done with the car seat about an hour before the drive ended.  She cried and cried and cried.  Then I cried.  We finally arrived, though, and it was so good to see Stuart and Courtney.

Our time went by too fast.  We spent some quality time playing at Stuart and Courtney's adorable house, we played at a few awesome playgrounds, and we spent one morning at the Richmond Children's Museum.  Audrey and Claire both loved the quality time with Stuart and Courtney, and I also loved the company!  There were some rough moments with the girls (especially sleep-wise), but Stuart and Courtney pitched in as much as they could.  After the girls went to bed at night, the grown-ups sat around eating great food (thanks to Courtney's amazing cooking) and chatting about life.  The trip was a great break for me.  I'm also happy to say that the drive back to South Carolina was much smoother than our drive to Richmond.
