San Diego

          Our family recently had the opportunity to travel to San Diego over two separate weekends.  We went, on both trips, with Matt's squadrons (he is currently working in two different squadrons, thus the two different trips).  We stayed on beautiful Coronado Island at the Navy Lodge, and both weekends were incredible.  The hotel sits directly on the beach, so it was easy for us to spend our mornings exploring the sand and dancing in the surf (the Pacific is a bit too cold for swimming).  One weekend, we spent the day at the immense San Diego Zoo.  The second weekend, we explored the tidal pools and cliffs at Point Loma.  All of us enjoyed the cooler weather, ocean breezes, and lazy days.  It's so wonderful to have San Diego within a half day's drive of us!
