I (Erika) debated whether or not to post about the passing of my Grandpa. It feels so personal, and yet, Grandpa was just so full of life and charisma. I cannot pass up the opportunity to share just a bit of him with any of my friends or family that might read this blog.
My Grandpa Peterson passed away on May 17th after 87 years of life on this earth. I will miss him so much, but I know that he is now in heaven with Jesus. I know that it is impossible to try to summarize such a great man's life in a few paragraphs on a blog, so I'm not even going to try.
I will only say that my Grandpa was not only the patriarch of our family, but he also impacted the lives of all who met him. He was so full of life. He loved the Lord, he loved his wife, and he loved his family. He worked passionately at whatever he did, whether it was his job or his hobbies (fly fishing being his great love for many years). We all knew how much he loved us, and he always saw the best in us and encouraged us to exceed our own expectations. While Grandpa was not a perfect man, he did live life to the fullest. I always loved and respected his passion for the Lord, his family, and life. In his time on earth, he created a legacy for our family that we aspire to uphold. I will never forget Grandpa, and I treasure my memories of him and with him. I look forward to walking hand in hand with him in heaven one day!

I loved your Grandpa Peterson too Erika. In the brief encounters I had with him I too experienced all the characteristics in him you mentioned in your post. He was loving, humorous, and there was a genuineness about him that you do not find in many people. Thank you for sharing him with me. My thoughts are with you and your family.
