If you read my previous post, you know all about our night time sleep battles with Audrey. Our first night using the sleep rules was not a success, and the following day during nap time resulted in a casualty - the Sleep Rules. Audrey did not fall asleep during her nap, and I had to go in and ask her to be quiet before her nap time had ended (even if she doesn't fall asleep, she has rest time in her room). She asked if she could have a special treat for following her sleep rules, and I said, "no." She had not followed the sleep rules. I left and went out in the living room. A few moments later, I heard her bedroom door open then quickly shut again. I walked to her room and found her sleep rules ripped and on the floor in the hallway. I went into her room and asked her why she had ripped the rules and thrown them out of her room. She told me she was angry at the rules and didn't want to use them anymore. Hmmm... We had a little chat, I taped the chart, and we hung it back up in her room. Since then, we've had two nights of no bedtime drama! Thank you, Sleep Rules, for outlasting the destruction of a three year old.

Maybe Audrey will be like Doogie Howser, except go to Law School as a teenager. You've got a smart and tough and beautiful little girl on your hands!
She was very expressive. It was great how you made her use her words after she ripped it down. I can't help but laugh as well. You are a great parent!
I can totally picture her doing this! What a smart little lady she is :) So glad that things have calmed down at sleep time since the casualty.
